Rosette Rage

Updated: Feb 11, 2023

Who's wearing 'em and where to get 'em

I know some might have a visceral gut reaction to the word 'rosette,' but hang with me. These aren't your average lace prom corsage or frilly Charming Charlie's brooch. Think femme, sophisticated upgrades to chokers and belts.

At first I was a hard no to the trend, praying and hoping it would die out as quickly as it emerged. But, game changers like Emili Sindlev (@emilisindlev) and Nina Sandbech (@ninasandbech) swayed me. Plus Harry just wore the trend to the BRITs, so it must be cool.

These flower stunners are being worn as chokers most commonly. But, if you're not into the ultra-feminine vibe of that, wearing as a belt is also a perfect addition to add *spice* to an outfit. I'm also starting to see a lot of rosette tops and shoulder pieces. Never fully dressed and ASOS has some affordable options there.

Some digging was required to find some shoppable options for the accessory, and I've gathered my splurge and save recs here!

The Splurge

1. $165 Rezek Studio Flowerette: This is exactly what @Matildadjerf is wearing in the pic above. ✅ Djerf Avenue approved. Perk: Comes with matching 19mm velvet ribbon for you to get creative with.

2. $167 Saks Potts Lee Belt: Just debuted at the CPHFW 23, Emili Sindlev wore this exact belt to the runway. Plus its all leather, so she's made for the long haul.

The Save

1. $22.90 Rose Flower Choker Necklace: Etsy is really shining in this trend. Handmade options are a great alternative to designer pieces. This store has a lot of colors and styles to choose from.

2. $58.40 Handmade phantom flower choker/necklace made out of organza in Lavender: Etsy (again) is shining at the choices they have to offer. This super dainty version is very tempting.

3. $22.90 Vintage Rose Flower Choker Necklace: The silk version, and hey, maybe get a rhinestone gun and attach some sparkle for a dupe of Rezek Studio

4. $18.95 NA-KD Rose Strap Necklace: Pink and red silky goodness

The DIY

Y'all know me. We can make this thing.

I ordered some leather cording and leather rose brooches from Amazon in both silver and gold. I have full faith I can dupe the Saks Potts option for $25 all together. I just ordered them, so I will update as I make it!
